SOLA  the Las Vegas Tapestry

The 7 x 11 ft. tapestry is woven of unraveled sweaters SOLA bought from local thrift shops.  She worked in almost complete seclusion for 8000 hours over a three year period in a tiny, almost empty apartment near the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas.

The huge tapestry is literally woven from the fabric of our community.  Motions are in the works to raise funds to place it in the new city hall. The campaign is entitled "To the City of Las Vegas, from the People of Las Vegas".  Toward the end of the capital fund you will hear more about ways the community can donate small change to truly make this a gift to the city from its people.

The tapestry is on view in the office of Trifecta Gallery.  Ask a staff member to tell you more about it. Its so amazing, we never get tired of talking about it!
