chasing color: the flavor series

Color and taste have been synonymous since my earliest recollections.  I don't actually eat paint, but I do expect it to taste and smell of the food color it mimics.  This series directly addresses the experience I most likely share with synasthetes who clinicallly see numbers as colors and other combinations of senses with numbers or letters. This is an abstract study of how we look at things, mainly art with the object as subject. Do we see what we know or see and digest elements for what they are at face value?
